Every year as Christmas gets closer, most of us carry around a quiet little bucket list — those odd, daring, slightly out-of-character things we daydream about doing but never say out loud.
It’s that mix of curiosity and courage, the small joys we push aside during the busy year, that sparked the idea for this song.
I wanted to capture that feeling of stepping out of your comfort zone.
The story follows a young woman growing into herself, letting go of the old fears and leaning into something braver, sweeter, and a little bolder.
There’s innocence in it, but also that spark that comes when you realise you’re ready for more.
To bring that to life, I chose the violin — playful, light, and full of personality — paired with piano to create warmth and reflection.
Together, they set the tone for a song that feels gentle but empowering, a little shy yet quietly confident, especially towards the later part of the song.
It’s about becoming someone stronger, someone softer, someone better… all at the same time.
And at the heart of it is that secret list we all keep, the one that reminds us that growth doesn’t always need to be loud.
Sometimes it starts with a whisper only you can hear.
