Our family spent two nights at the Dolphin Motel in Paihia and chose this motel for its convenient location and affordability. This motel doesn’t come with additional facilities, such as a swimming pool or games room. However, they do offer Sky TV, which allowed us to enjoy snug family movie nights on the couch.
Bounty Motel: A popular choice due to its central location, it offers a range of room types, free Wi-Fi, and is within walking distance of shops and restaurants.
During one of our road trips from Auckland to Cape Reinga, we chose to stay at the Bounty Motel. While this Paihia accommodation is a little further from Paihia Wharf and the town centre, it’s still within walking distance if you fancy a short stroll.
Similar to many other Bay of Islands accommodations, Bounty Motel doesn’t offer luxuries. However, it offers an affordable and comfortable stay, especially when travelling with children. In our family room, there were three single beds and a queen bed. We particularly appreciated having a separate space from the kids.
