Best Time To Visit Wellington
Summer Glow: Summer’s our family’s Wellington sweet spot. December to February brings sunny 20-25°C days, perfect for beach picnics and cable car rides. The kids love the extra daylight, but book ahead; everyone else does too.
Shoulder Season: Spring or autumn—October-November or March-April. Mild 15-20°C, blooming gardens or turning leaves, and way fewer crowds.
All Year Round: Honestly, Wellington works year-round (rarely freezing or scorching). Winter means quiet museums and hot chocolates. We’ve done June and loved the cosy, uncrowded vibe and had the playgrounds almost to ourselves. Just remember to pack a windproof jacket.
