2. When is the best time to go to Mount Ruapehu
The best time to visit Mt Ruapehu depends on the activities you’re interested in.
Winter
If you’re looking to enjoy the snow and partake in winter activities such as skiing or snowboarding, the best time to visit is between June and October.
This is when the mountain transforms into a winter wonderland with some of the best slopes for skiing and boarding in New Zealand.
Summer
However, if you’re interested in other activities such as hiking or the crater climb, the best season is from December through April.
